3. Is the PR3 PLUS available in various phases eg. SISO, TISO or TITO?
SISO (single-phase input / single-phase output) is not available for PR3 PLUS. Only available are TISO (three-phase input / single-phase output) and TITO (three-phase input/output).
4.
Do you need to use a Battery Module for every Power Module?
No, each Power Module has its own battery set to function independently (10 pieces of battery in a Power Module). Battery Modules are needed only to increase backup time if the standard Power Module backup time is insufficient.
5.
Do Battery Modules have special slots dedicated to it?
No. The Battery Module can be inserted into any available slot just like the Power Module. If there is a mixture of Power and Battery Module in the same Cabinet, preferably Battery Module should be in the lower slot of the Cabinet as they are heavier.
6.
What should be the space allocation for maintenance of PR3 PLUS?
There should be at least 900mm of space at the back of the UPS for maintenance purposes. Also ensure there is at least 800mm of space in front of the UPS as the depth of the Power Module itself is 711mm and this space will allow easy hot-swap capability.
7. What is the maximum operating ambient temperature?
The maximum external ambient temperature is 40°C. In addition to protect the UPS, the PR3 PLUS will shutdown if the internal module temperature exceeds 57°C irrespective whether in AC or DC mode.
8.
What are the software & accessories available for PR3 PLUS?
Please refer to Software Section.
9. Why should the battery terminals be disconnected?
The battery terminal should be disconnected during storage and shipment otherwise the batteries will lose charge.
10. Is the monitoring software included in the PR3 PLUS system?
The monitoring software is optional and not included in the system. There are various software for many different operating systems thus it is sold as an option (please request from your relevant sales representative).
11. Is the Cabinet and Modules field configurable?
Yes, provided the electrical infrastructure has been designed to cater for this upgrade. The modules can be upgraded anytime if there are additional cabinet slots available for future expansion.
12. Is the LCD Panel for control and monitoring?
The LCD Panel is for display and monitoring only. The power management and monitoring can be interfaced with the UPS and viewed via the optional Power Management software.
13. What is the Master Cabinet? What is Expansion Cabinet?
The name Master & Slave does not mean that the CPU is configured as master slave configuration. For PR3 PLUS, this is to identify the cabinet only. There is no CPU in the cabinet.
The Master Cabinet is the one with the LCD Panel. You need this as the basic cabinet for the system for display of information. Master Cabinet can be configured in TITO or TISO.
The Expansion Cabinet is universal for upgrade purposes and has no LCD Panel. As the Expansion Cabinet the same Expansion Cabinet can be used for TITO Master Cabinet or TISO Master Cabinet.
14. What is the load (pressure) per square meter?
1050Kg/m² (8-Slot Cabinet + 8 Power Modules)
1330Kg/m² (8-Slot Cabinet Battery Modules)
15. Do you need to balance the load connected to PR3 PLUS TITO?
Preferably yes, if not, the output voltage will vary display more than the 3% tolerance. The UPS will function normally even if the load is unbalanced.
16. What does ‘N+1’ means in PR3 PLUS compared to a Conventional UPS?
“N+1” refers to the redundancy. N is the required capacity and 1 means there is a standby or redundant unit of N capacity.
Example for a conventional 50KVA UPS, for redundancy, the redundant UPS is of the same capacity of 50KVA. This means for a conventional UPS the total is 100KVA (50KVA+50KVA).
Every PR3 PLUS Power Module (PM) is a 3kVA modular unit hence for TITO N+1 system, the system configuration is 51KVA+3KVA (or 17 PMx3KVA = 54KVA).
Since the PR3 PLUS 3KVA power module is an individual UPS by itself, it offers a higher reliability as compared to the conventional UPS redundant system which has a higher unreliability of loosing 50% of its load if the UPS fails.
17. Can I unplug any Power Module for hot-swap?
Yes, the power module can be hot-swap without having to engage the maintenance bypass or manual bypass.
